We suggest a consultation with our dietician. After completing an in-depth questionnaire in order to determine your dietary habits, as well as undergoing a body fat count, our nutrition specialist will provide you with a personalised programme containing balanced meals that are adapted to your taste and lifestyle.

And in the cozy environment of our Restaurant our chef will invite you to discover the secrets of a healthy, delicious and light cuisine. The menu consists of cereals, fruit, fresh local products, aromatic herbs and spices (garlic, basil,mint, thyme, sage, etc.), meat twice a week and fish, and uses olive oil as the main source of fat.

There is no better recognition of the quality of service than an award and it was bestowed to family owned Aldemar, at the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Spa Awards 2008. The Thalasso Spa at the Aldemar Royal Mare Village on Crete came 4th in the top 10 Overseas Spa Retreats category. Readers voted on various elements including the accommodation, amenities, products, body and face treatments, the cuisine, exercise programme, facilities and individual approach as well as the staff and service. THALASSOTHERAPY:

The Royal Way to Beauty Health and Relaxation :

The Greek word for sea is "thalassa". Hippocrates (460- 370 BC), the famous physician of Greek antiquity, may be considered to be a pioneer of modern Thalassotherapy. When he observed that the injured hands of fishermen did not get infected, he deduced that sea water had healing and disinfecting properties. This medical intuition made him prescribe sea-water applications for pain relief and healing treatments.

Hippocrates did not know why sea water acted positively on the human organism. More than 2000 years later, the French biologist René Quinton scientifically established the similarity of human blood plasma to sea water. Sea water contains all the main elements and minerals that are needed to ensure cell growth and can be absorbed by the skin.

THALASSOTHERAPY PROGRAMS:

The Centre's specialized medical team draws up a personalized program for each client during the mandatory consultation on arrival. The best long-term results are obtained with six-day programs. Nevertheless, the Centre proposes special weekend packages for those who would like to find out about the different Thalasso/Spa facilities or to reinforce the effects of previous treatments. TREATMENTS:

JET SHOWER:A vertical sea-water massage with the Centre's hydro therapist. Relaxation and general toning of the muscles. Improvement of the circulation in the legs.

AFFUSION SHOWER: A warm sea-water mist shower for the ultimate relaxation experience. Light pressure for relaxation and easing of stress, stronger pressure for toning the body. Simultaneous manual massage may be advised.

UNDERWATER MASSAGE BATH: An underwater jet massage by our hydro therapist in a warm sea-water bath for the treatment of muscular aches and pains and circulatory complaints. Also effective for weight loss.

ALGAE APPLICATIONS: Seaweeds (algae) are particularly rich in minerals. An application supplies vital elements that penetrate our organism.
Recommended in rheumatic and arthritic conditions, for physical fitness, skin firmness and weight loss.

PEDILUVIUM: An alternating warm and cold foot Bath with jet massage to improve vein tone.

BUBBLING AIR AND MICRO JET BATH: A relaxing or stimulating Bath with or without algae. Beneficial in weight loss and circulatory problems.

AEROSOL: Special inhalation programs for the treatment and prevention of respiratory troubles are worked out by our medical team. Marine inhalations help significantly in treating respiratory problems caused by atmospheric pollution.

SEA MUD BOWL: Kneading warm sea mud is very effective in the prevention and treatment of rheumatic complaints of the hands.

MASSAGE: In addition to hydrotherapy, dry treatments are prescribed by our medical team: traditional body massage (Relax-tonic-back & neck), Shiatsu, lymphatic drainage, vertebral massage, pressotherapy for the simulation of vein tone, Aromatherapy massage, Reiki, Thai massage, Reflexology and Ayurvedic massages (Abhianga –Vishesh) and Shirogriva (head and neck massage).
